Session

The total number of meetings that the local council can hold in a year is not more than 100 days including regular and special meetings. However, if more days for meetings are needed for unavoidable reasons, the number can be extended up to 110 days by the approval at the plenary session. A regular meeting can be held twice(2) a year and the total number of regular meetings should be not more than 45 days. And the total number of special meetings is 15 days at most and should be approved at the plenary session.

Convening

The local council is not open all year round but for a certain period of time. An assembly meeting is referred to as the act of the local council to gather at a certain place to perform functions unique to the organization. The session is decided by the votes of the council. A regular meeting is held twice(2) a year according to the ordinance. If the day of the meeting falls on a holiday, the meeting is convened on the following day. A special meeting is convened at the request of the head of the local government or more than 1/3 of the incumbent assembly members, The meeting should be announced 5 days prior to the meeting.
